The commitment of transforming London from paper to digital has been strengthened in recent years with the growth of innovation teams and accelerators, investment in technology and partnerships, and Lloyd’s mandating electronic placing. But this is just the start and there’s a long way to go before London is truly digital.
The LMA, working with London InsTech and MarketMinds, is sponsoring an event to showcase some of the technologies that can help the London market on this journey. There will be a keynote presentation from what3words’ Strategic Partnership Director, Ashley Marie Cashion, who will tell us about how what3words is changing the way that we think about addresses and our customers. In particular how the division of the world into three metre squares with unique addresses can enhance customer experience, deliver business efficiency, drive growth and support the social and economic development of countries.
This will be followed by quick-fire presentations from a number of Insurtech companies such as Whitespace, Concirrus and Shift Technologies, whose propositions are already helping to transform the way the London market does business from trading platforms, and on-demand insurance provision, to cyber and drones.
London is the European hub of InsurTech investment with more than 30% of all deals taking place in the city and we in London need to embrace InsurTech to ensure that London retains its role as a globally important insurance centre and grows its market share. This event will provide some insightful and interesting ideas on how we can do that.
